Kaiju - Buredo

Large, bulky and filled with spikes all along his broad armored back through its lengthy tail, Buredo is an extremely aggressive and heavily built Kaiju that invokes a giant Thorny Devil in appearance. His body is covered by a thick, leathery skin and his reptilian facial structure is made up of a long membranous neck. Baredu’s elongated head is adorned with a spiky crown and epoccipitals but his most notable facial features are the two curved blades rising from his snout (the evil mustache!) and a powerful jaw with two pointy bony knives for a more deadly bite. Baredu’s most powerful weapons are the very long and curved sharp-ended twin blades he proudly displays as an extension of his arms. He can use them for defense or he can just swing them violently and destroy everything in his path. This monster regularly moves around by walking on his knuckles but stands on his feet when he is ready to attack. He may be heavy but this Kaiju’s powerful limbs allow him to move and attack as fast as a rampaging gorilla! 

Kaiju - Curanku

Like Baredu, Curanku is one of the deadliest Kaiju wielding a sharp weapon, extremely efficient for massive destruction wherever she’s unleashed. Larger than all other Kaiju in terms of length, Curanku bears a massive armored hump on her back, extruding two elongated scissor-like blades.  Her unique weapon is so heavy that she’s limited to walking on four limbs, even if her body suggests a bipedal structure. Her frontal limbs may resemble two large and strong arms but she mostly uses them to walk while supporting her massive weight. In addition, she has two insect-like appendages below her chest, which are utilized to clear obstacles, or available for limited, close-range attack. Curanku has a bulky and long lobster-like tail covered with bony plates, featuring two pincers at its end, useful for rear defense. She can produce light inside her tail due to a chemical reaction that occurs in luminous internal organs that are heavily guarded and safe.
Keeping her body balanced requires large amounts of energy which affects her speed and mobility.  Therefore, in battle she will always rely on quick frontal scissor attacks, knowing that she can shred any man-made structure or weapon in a short, chaotic burst of destruction. In addition, she often stands upright for a short period of time to display her four upper limbs for intimidation. If her enemy is strong, she can slowly retreat into a defensive position, awaiting the opportunity to reveal a lethal weapon hidden inside her body. She then brings her luminous organs to a boil, producing a large amount of pure energy that she can concentrate in her hump. Using the scissor blades for aiming, she then unleashes a red-hot, cataclysmic energy blast capable of melting everything.

The Crab Toad

I'm so glad and honored to reach the 7th place in the Helpful Bear Production's Creature Design Contest!! Around 2000 different entries from so many badass artists with stunning works! Thanks so much to Terryl Whitlatch and the whole Helpful Bear Team for this contest. You guys rocks!!

Crab Toads:
My idea was to create a creature with both amphibian and crustacean characteristics since crabs and toads are my favorite animals ever so let me guys introduce you to the weird Crab Toad.

This weird amphibian has many areas of his body covered by a solid layer which is more concentrated on the frontal area of the head in a shape of a crest. The size of the crest is way larger in males while in females it looks more like a small beak. Apart from being a sexual characteristic the crest in males is often used as a weapon for dominance disputes and as a tool to make his way across muddy waters.

The front legs of the crab toad are more amphibian-like while the back legs are larger and more crustacean-like. The ones in the middle are a combination of both of course. The membranes on the back legs are pretty useful for swimming in the swamp but also for the display of emotions. Whenever a crab toad is angry it raises the back legs and spread the membranes to intimidate other animals. Nevertheless a less aggressive use for those membranes is for mating. When the male crab toad wants to call the attention of some female crab toads he just doesn’t spread those membranes and keep them as high as he can but also makes a weird noise from his mouth! (Yes, he sings). Quite seductive for female crab toads.

A Dug Bounty Hunter I made for the 3D Fan Art Challenge - Planet to Planet contest. The goal was to sculpt and already existing alien character/creature but also add a personal touch on it. I choose a Dug (created by Terryl Whitlatch) and made him a little bit beefier. I also added some pieces of armor, a couple of deadly weapons and a terrible bad attitude!  

It was fun and challenging at the same time!
